This Lovely Human Is Moving On
After over 6 years at the helm of VancouverMom.ca’s content, Harriet Fancott is saying goodbye.
Since February 2015, Harriet’s keen eye has overseen the production of all VancouverMom.ca articles, social media posts and weekly newsletters. She has worked closely with all of our writers and advertisers and has helped us launch campaigns for Little Kitchen Academy, Vancouver Children’s Festival, Pedalheads, HR MacMillan Space Centre and so many more.
She has been a friendly face - and email address - for the many mom influencers and bloggers who have gleaned our annual top 30 list. And I can’t think of anyone better to come along to the countless media trips and events.
From the Beginning
I had the pleasure of meeting Harriet in 2010 when we named our first Top 30 Mom Blogger list - only a few months after VancouverMom.ca’s launch in 2009.
In 2012, I invited Harriet to come say a few words to the cohort of bloggers that year. “What should I say?” she asked.
“I don’t know. Just be you. Be funny.” I said.
She was perplexed and surprised - I guess having never really thought of herself as that funny.
And now, 9 years later, remembering how she killed it that night, I realize that the thing I’m going to miss most of all is her sharp perspective and witty humour.

A new chapter: We’re Hiring
What does that mean for VancouverMom.ca? We’re now hiring - with a twist.
VancouverMom.ca is owned by Crisp Media, a marketing consulting company that offers fractional director of marketing services and coaching to emerging enterprises and SMEs. Our clients include cleantech, edutech, financial services, manufacturing, e-commerce stores and more. We work with folks wanting to make a difference in the world.
We are splitting up the VancouverMom.ca responsibilities and sharing them among two roles:
Role 1: Senior Marketing Consultant / Managing Editor, VancouverMom.ca
This role is a hybrid position, splitting time between VancouverMom.ca editorial duties and consulting our marketing clients. (8 to 10 hours on VM; 30 hours on client and other work)
Role 2:Digital Associate, Content + Social Media
This role will be dedicated to the “back end” of VancouverMom.ca - creating posts in WordPress, formatting our weekly newsletters and scheduling our social media posts. (8 to 10 hours/week on VM; 30 hours on client and other work)
