Nestled in the trees on Vancouver’s North Shore, Brockton School is a place where children from Pre-K to Grade 12 are truly seen, where families feel at home, and where learning unfolds with purpose and heart. Our mission is simple and powerful: to inspire the growth of outstanding humans.

One Brockton parent shared:

“Brockton feels like an extension of our family now. I’m no longer an outsider jumping through hoops to get my daughter what she needs. The care, attention, and support she receives from her teachers almost doesn’t feel real, it keeps her focused, confident, and truly cared for.”

A Meaningful Beginning

In Pre-K and Kindergarten, children need connection and belonging. Brockton’s Early Learning program nurtures curious, caring, and confident young learners through:

  • Inquiry-based IB learning

  • Purposeful play and exploration

  • Time spent outdoors learning in our surrounding forest in Outdoor Education

  • A warm, community-focused environment

  • A 6:1 faculty-to-student ratio

Opportunities That Help our Students Discover Who They Are

With 60+ athletics and extracurriculars, arts, a renowned World Music Program, leadership roles, and outdoor education across all grades, students explore widely and build the confidence they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Head of School Karen McCulla explains:

“Engagement is profound. Each child encounters defining moments in their development, and being supported by meaningful adults, teachers, counsellors, coaches, peers, during these moments can make all the difference.”

Grade 12 student (Class of 2026), Malcolm shared:

“I’ve participated in such a range of activities: sports teams, community action teams, internships. I found passions I didn’t even know I had. Brockton has shaped me into a balanced person. With the many extracurriculars I’m involved in, the IB classes, and the strong community connections, I’ve learned to manage my time well and flourish both inside and outside the classroom.”

Academic Excellence with Heart

Brockton is the only independent school in BC to offer all four International Baccalaureate Programmes. Supported by strong teacher-student relationships, 100% of our graduates are accepted into their post-secondary program of choice, with all students earning BC Ministry of Education Honours Standing, and IB results that consistently exceed global averages. Provincial and international benchmarking further confirm what families already know: Brockton students thrive.

Alumni Tilly, now playing in Canada’s first professional women’s soccer league, said:

“My teachers were deeply involved in my journey, always encouraging me to pursue my passions and try new things, from track and field to the World Music Program. Their support helped me earn a university soccer scholarship. The work ethic, discipline, and sense of community I gained at Brockton have carried me through university and now into my professional career. I’m so grateful for how foundational Brockton was in shaping who I am today.”
