February 29th is Pink Shirt Day

VancouverMom.ca is a proud supporter of Pink Shirt Day.In 2007, two Nova Scotia students decided to take action after witnessing a younger student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. The students bought 50 pink t-shirts and encouraged schoolmates to wear them and send a powerful message of solidarity to the bully.CKNW was inspired by the story and to date has raised more than $300,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs anti-bullying programs with the sales of Pink Shirt Day T-Shirts. This year, CKNW is aiming to sell 60,000 Pink Shirt Day T-Shirts and will dedicate a month of editorial coverage to the awareness and education of bullying and anti-bullying programs.Net proceeds benefit the Girls Clubs of South Coast BC and the CKNW Orphans's Fund.Find out how you can get involved at www.pinkshirtday.ca.
