There’s a new kind of yoga class popping up at studios and community centres: the family yoga class. It’s not just about Baby and Me classes now – the whole family can do their downward dog together.

The only fully kid-centric yoga studio in the city, it makes sense they would have a family class too. Their Saturday morning Family class is open to all ages, and you can do drop-in. And, Thomas Haas is just down the road.

2525 West Broadway, Vancouver

Butterfly offers two options for Family Yoga: an evening class for families with children 6 years and older at Kerrisdale Community Centre, and a mid-morning class for families with kids 3 to 5 years old at Hillcrest Community Centre. You can register for these classes through vancouver.ca, though they both take drop-ins as well.

This family yoga class is designed for everyone in the family from 5 years old up to seniors. How cool would it be to have three generations practicing yoga together? You do have to register for this one.

This quirky and cool little Chinatown studio holds Community Family Yoga for all generations, and they play fun yoga games and work on partner poses. Call the studio to check when this class will be offered, it often pops up on weekend mornings.
