When Dominique Ansel’s bakery in New York started producing a limited number of a croissant-doughnut hybrids each day, New Yorkers waited in line for hours to get a taste. Obviously this craze would spread, but surprisingly, Vancouver was one of the first with a bakery willing to take up the many-layered pastry doughnut mantle. Enter Swiss Bakery’s frissant.
