Have you heard?
The Amazing Sea Creatures At Washed Ashore Metropolis

From now until April 30th, visit the Washed Ashore Art Exhibit at Metropolis. You'll be amazed by this display of incredible sea creature sculptures made entirely of waste from the Pacific Ocean.
Washed Ashore volunteers have removed over 60,000 lbs of waste from the sea. They’ve cleaned over 482 kilometres of beach, collecting everything from flip flops, bottle caps, lighters, beach toys, even a toilet seat and a microwave to create over 85 sculptures.
Lead Artist Steve Wright uses these pieces of garbage to design and build intriguing and beautiful marine animal sculptures—large in scale but highly detailed. These works of art fuse imagination and education as they showcase creativity and the need for sustainability and protect our oceans.
The Washed Ashore Art Exhibit features 9 amazing sea creature sculptures, free for visitors to experience in the Grand Court at Metropolis at Metrotown now until April 30. Stop by the contest kiosk on your way out or scan the QR code on their sign to let the mall know if you enjoyed the exhibit. By doing so, you can enter a contest for a chance to win a $500 shopping spree and a $500 donation to an environmental charity of your choice!
